A reputable Gold Mining Company located in Ghana is looking for qualified Ghanaian Nationals to apply for the position of Electrical Maintenance General Foreman

Purpose of Role
To ensure the efficient supervision and control of Underground Electrical Maintenance by allocating and managing resources (people and equipment) to attain production and engineering objectives and also ensure compliance of  all Safety guidelines and  Mines Safety Management System. 

Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties

• Plan and organize maintenance jobs in accordance with safety standards and within a budget.
• Execute the planned jobs according to priorities and the availability of equipment and in accordance with the Company’s Management Practices.
• Diagnose, install/ repair / replace faulty electrical and electronic systems, units and components of machines and equipment.
• Efficiently perform preventive, breakdown, project, refurbishment repairs and assign electrical maintenance staff according to work requirements and priorities.
• Train team members in all areas of major responsibilities to promote succession planning.
• Perform periodical and scheduled inspection and maintenance programs to maintain underground assets and infrastructure according to established mine maintenance and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with the planning section to set / review required maintenance / repair plans, maintenance schedules and strategies
• Provide leadership and coordination in the planning, implementation, and improvement of the Maintenance Management Processes.
• Ensure that Contractors are performing according to contractual obligations with the Company.
• Open, review and close Work Orders, prepare Purchase Requisitions and estimates as required.
• Work with other maintenance software tools as required
• Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Required Skills or Experience

• Must have a Degree/HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Must have a minimum of 5 - 10 years' experience in mobile maintenance field.             
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of medium and low voltage VFD’s, soft start motor starters, PLC’s and underground construction and Power Distribution.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of the Duty of Care Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, and Mining Inspection Act & Regulations.
• Ability to prepare estimates, tender document specifications for any electrical works and analyze offers to recommend the best
• Must be a computer literate - MS Office Suite.
• Good written and oral communication and report writing skills.
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good and defensive driving skills on the surface and underground
