A reputable Gold Mining Company located in Ghana is looking for qualified Ghanaian Nationals to apply for the position of Jumbo Operator / Trainer

Summary
Key duties are to operate Jumbo drilling rigs for mine development and install ground support according to quality specifications safely and efficiently. The Jumbo Operator is also responsible for the minimization of secondary breakage and correct installation of ground support systems in accordance with the geotechnical plan.                         

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate Jumbo drilling rigs for mine development according to quality specifications safely and efficiently.
• Mark up faces, install ground support systems and cable bolts in accordance to the geotechnical plans, statutory, and survey specifications.
• Comply with all applicable mine safe work procedures / Safe Operating Procedures.
• Ensure completion of end of shift reports.
• Participate in all applicable safety, prestart and shift team meetings
• Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by your supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

• Must possess at least MSLC/SHS Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ working experience in Underground Mining Operations.
• Must have detailed knowledge in the operation of large jumbos either single or multi-boom; experience with Tamrock 2009 Axera Twin Boom Jumbos.
• Must be able to read and understand designed ground support plans, detailed survey prints and layouts.
• Holder of Mine Rescue and valid First Aid Certificates will be an added advantage.
• Must have thorough understanding of underground mining operations, and solid safety performance at the personal and professional level.
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with defensive driving skills
