Job Description

Our client, a global health organization with the aim of improving the health of people in developing countries is looking for a well-organized and a proactive IT Officer to help with their operations in Ghana.

 ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing computer system and software capabilities for the company

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Install network peripherals such as printers, router and switches, wireless radio.
  • Design, implement and test software.
  • Ensure efficient network administration and system security always.
  • Configure, terminate and splice fiber cables.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and repairs on computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners, telephone, etc.
  • Resolve issues relating to internet services for staff in the company.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure that users of IT Equipment handle them with care to avoid damage and theft.
  • Organize the IT Unit ensuring that staff are motivated, resourced to give higher output.
  • Handle complaints from staff to ensure continuous flow of work by staff.
  • Ensure software and database management in the company.
  • Compile database on all company IT Assets and ensure that they are managed responsibly.
  • Design and implement LAN, WAN and MAN networks.
  • Install telephone and internet system in the offices to ensure uninterrupted flow of information.
  • Bring to the attention of management all IT related payment/bills to ensure that service providers continue to give satisfactory services.
  • Ensure that cables are well truncated to avoid obstruction of movement in the offices.
  • Advise management on IT infrastructure and service needs of the organization.
  • Manage antivirus servers and make sure all client users are up to date.
  • Provide IT training programmes organized for staff in the group.
  • In charge of Website development and management in the organization.
  • Attend meetings and training programmes as directed by management.
  • Set-up a call center within the office
  • Adapt the Python code to the organisational needs
  • Manage the call center server and the different devices for the agents
  • Set-up a secure cloud structure in order to share the main folders
  • Support the call center operator with technical issues
  • Create and manage a weekly protocol to download platform data
  • Create and manage a weekly protocol to backup data physically
  • Focal point for the technical issues with the telecom furnishers
  • Write monthly reports detailing threats and weaknesses and propose recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to management

Required Skills or Experience

  • First degree in Administration (IT Option)) or related field
  • 4 years in a computer science degree

 REQUIREMENT

  • Superior knowledge of programming (Python) and digital data collection platforms is required
  • Must be excellent in information technology
  • Superior knowledge in QuickBooks
  • Superior knowledge of IT tools and the Office package (Word, Excel) is required
  • Having already worked on databases is required
  • Must be excellent in communication
  • Dynamic, rigorous, responsive and well organized
  • Must have a fair knowledge in business development
  • Very good communication skills, with a perfect command of English (oral and written).
  • Must have fair knowledge in marketing

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suites and Management Information System
  • Knowledge of Fibre Technology, Windows, Linux Operating System and SPSS
  • Electrical and Power Systems
  • Being abreast with software systems
