Job Description

• POSITION: PROCESS SHIFT SUPERVISOR
• REPORTS TO:  HEAD OF PROCESS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Controls and organizes shift labour for maximum output.
• Monitors plant operating parameters and ensures production targets are met or exceeded.
• Ensures safe working practices and maintenance of high housekeeping standards.
• Monitors plant equipment performance and ensures the maximum availability of the units.
• Liaise with maintenance team during breakdown and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure critical jobs are completed on time for smooth plant operations and unplanned downtime.
• Generates report on daily plant shift operations.
• Troubleshoot to identify bottlenecks during operations.
• Conduct shift handover meetings.
• Assist in controlling costs i.e. reduce waste, improve operational control etc.
• Provides motivation and leadership to subordinates and to promote safe working environment.
• Ensures adherence to all regulatory and industry standard working procedures and maintain order.
• Performs any other duties instructed by the Unit manager and Head of Process.

Required Skills or Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge in Waste Water / Water Treatment
• Experience in Biological treatment plant
• Conflict management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with all categories of employees.
• People management skills

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education 

• Must be a degree holder in any of these: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Chemistry.

Experience

•  Not less than three (3) years working experience in the processing industry
