Job Description

Our client, a logistics company is looking for a proactive Senior Controller to help with their operations in Ghana. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Country Manager.

ROLE PROFILE
The position requires the successful candidate to schedule, execute and co-ordinate the primary freight loads, pallet management, claims reconciliation, customer service levels, KPI reporting and daily system administration

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily receiving and processing of transport orders
  • Daily planning, routing and scheduling of vehicles in a timeous manner
  • Ensure that all loads are adequately insured
  • Assist company claims department in finalizing claims
  • Ensure the tracking and capturing of information regarding pallets if applicable
  • Daily measurement of key performance indicators (KPI’s) in accordance with each client’s service level agreement (SLA)
  • Day to day building and management of a service driven and professional relationship with all key contacts at the client / warehouse / loading point / delivery point and subcontractors
  • Assist the company’s POD department with outstanding queries
  • Ad Hoc queries from Management or client
  • Efficient scheduling of loads and in turn ensuring the profitability of all stakeholders
  • Follow the necessary Claims, Accident, Hi-Jack and pallet procedures
  • Daily Rate management
  • Understand and apply costing methods
  • Nightshift handover (Briefing/Debriefing)

Expected Outcomes

  • Process of transport orders in accordance with the client’s SLA
  • Accurate information supplied to company’s claims department to drive efficiency in claims process
  • Maintain communication with management and colleagues to promote efficiency and to ensure irregularities are highlighted
  • Maintain good working relationship with colleagues and clients
  • Accurate reporting on pallets, KPI’s and relevant data capturing on company Transport Management System
  • Constantly strive to improve core fleet utilization and performance in accordance with income and profit targets

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistic Management
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant transport environment
  • Grade 12 certificate will be an added advantage
  • Training: As identified from time to time
