Job Description

A Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) and a subsidiary of a multinational company has vacancies for highly motivated individuals with high integrity and a passion to succeed for hiring

Reports To: Credit Administration Team Leader
Location: Accra

Purpose Of The Job:

  • To establish and maintain a continuous professional relationship with clients in default, to implement and ensure compliance with realistic payment plans. Play a key role in assisting the Arrears Team to achieve set targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures for Arrears collection
  • Ensure that customers with non-performing loans adhere to agreed payment plans
  • Undertake debt counselling, interviews, face-to-face and on the phone
  • Monitor loans and promptly implement recommended mitigating processes if default occurs
  • Advise clients of the next course of action and the ultimate consequences of non-payment
  • Respond to customer correspondence within established timelines
  • Recover outstanding debts and account for all monies collected promptly and honestly
  • Notify customers of specific actions and changes and deal with subsequent complaints
  • Send out demand notices to customers for rectification of accounts in default
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on clients in arrears in line with company procedure
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to management as required.
  • Other reasonable tasks / duties as may be assigned by management

Required Skills or Experience

  • At least HND in any discipline  
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in unsecured loan collection (micro loans, group loans, small business loans, payday loans)
  • Experience in recovery via telephone communication

  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as an effective team member
  • Problem analysis and solving with attention to detail
  • IT aptitude and the ability to learn (Ms. Excel is a must)
  • Ability to calmly but firmly deal with customers.
  • Ability to handle difficult defaulters
  • A passionate “can do” attitude
