Job Summary:

  • Manage Clinical Skills training and Health Facilities Quality Assurance (QA) component of the “Lydia Care Network (LCN ) and LAD” projects;
  • Provide maternal, family planning (FP) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) advice; counsel and communication;
  • Maintain relationships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Services (GHS), and other FP/ SRH partners at operational levels.
  • Provide strategic analysis and critical thinking to further company goals, especially those related long term FP methods aided by research results.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage clinical skills training and health facilities quality assurance component of the “Lydia Care Network and the LAD” projects

  • Quickly develop detailed implementation plan to deliver technical aspects of LCN and LAD projects, including clinical skills training/updates for the insertion and removal of multiple types of IUDs, insertion and removal of implants, and counseling, prescription, and provision of medical abortion and MVA;
  • Develop and conduct QA Assessments of ALL Lydia Care Network Facilities;
  • Develop and execute Quality Assurance strategies for effective delivery of quality services of ALL LCN Facilities;
  • Develop and execute community outreach programs to deliver target levels of market activations and community meetings, focused on long term family planning methods and medical abortion.
  • Create and manage team and products for community activations and campus community meetings to ensure execution with excellence;
  • In conjunction with marketing team and advertising agencies, develop and adapt materials to be used in clinical trainings and demand generation activities;
  • Monitor effectiveness of community demand generation activities by RCRs and recommend / amend strategies accordingly;
  • Ensure activities are in line with FDA regulatory requirements; budget and donor expectations.

Provide maternal, family planning and sexual and reproductive health advice; counsel and communication.

  • Advice CD, and staff on technical aspects of Maternal, FP and SRH to ensure DKT provides timely and accurate information in the field;
  • Keep all DKT employees up-to-date on FP and SRH developments, statistics, and innovations;
  • Be voice of DKT to healthcare providers and other FP / SRH stakeholders with regards to technical information;
  • Responsible for accurate technical communication in all DKT products, IEC, and marketing materials;
  • Represent technical communication on all media outlets including TV, print, and radio appurtenances;
  • Provide technical skills updates to Regional Community Representatives and Territory Managers;
  • Manage ALL Technical messaging and communication at the Call Center

Maintain relationships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Services (GHS), and other FP/SRH partners at operational level.

  • Create, nurture, and maintain strong linkages between DKT and MoH, and DKT and GHS Family Planning Division (FPD) at the national, regional and district levels;
  • Participate in key stakeholder technical meetings for DKT within the MoH and GHS FHD;
  • Ensure active MoH and GHS support for DKT activities and sales;
  • Develop innovative public / private partnerships (PPP) to increase uptake and sales of long-term family planning methods;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with private healthcare outlets and providers;
  • Participate in annual FP/SRH conferences of key stakeholders such as the Ghana Registered Midwives Association (GRMA) to promote DKT products

Provide strategic analysis and critical thinking to further company goals, especially those related long term FP methods aided by research results.

  • Develop detailed technical strategies to accompany and drive sales targets and mCPR / shared goals;
  • Collaborate with Sales & Distribution Manager to increase DKT product distribution in clinical channels;
  • Design and execute effective healthcare provider outreach and networks;

Other Duties:

  • Represent DKT with all partners including, but not limited to: MoH and GHS representatives, donors, NGOs, consultants -- maintaining positive, professional relationships and image at operational levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Assure confidentiality in handling business related issues.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Post-graduate training in public health or other relevant discipline
  • Clinical degree in nursing with emphasis on midwifery is a plus.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years mid-senior level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, complex FP/SRH clinical training and quality assurance programs.
  • Demonstrated track record working with mid and senior level MoH and GHS FHD officials.
  • Experience with and understanding of Ghana’s law providing access to safe abortion services.
  • Proven knowledge of the private clinic landscape in Ghana, with existing strong relationships and networks within the sector.
