Job Description

A Reputable company wishes to announce vacant positions for OPERATIONS ANALYSTS (Portfolio Management Team Member) in the Operations Department.

Summary
This role will be responsible for all custodians and fund manager correspondence, the creation and setting up of securities in the fund administration software, delivering quality research reports, generation of scheme prices and the maintenance of the schemes’ accounts.

Essential Functions

Portfolio valuation and pricing

  • Ensure that all investment securities are set-up in the fund administration software
  • Ensure that security prices for portfolio valuation are uploaded
  • Ensure portfolio valuation and dealing day are run
  • Ensure the accurate reporting of all schemes’ accounts

Manage service provider relationship

  • Manage ‘fundops’ inbox
  • Handle all correspondence with service providers
  • Manage service provider performance evaluation
  • Manage cash balances in portfolio
  • Ensure that there is regular portfolio reconciliation with service providers

Process payment instructions

  • Processing of all payments (fees, taxes, benefits payments, transfers, etc)

Document management

  • Ensure that all correspondence with service providers are properly scanned and filed in appropriate folders
  • Ensure that client and customer payments are generated and loaded into appropriate software

Reporting

  • Ensure that compliance reports are generated according to SLA
  • Ensure the generation of all internal operational and portfolio reports
  • Ensure the generation of any other required reports relevant to portfolio management
  • Ensure that scheme financials are prepared within SLA

Research

  • Ensure that quality research reports are prepared for credit issuers each quarter
  • Ensure that quality research reports are prepared on stocks each quarter
  • Ensure that quality research reports on key macroeconomic indicators each quarter
  • Ensure that quality research reports on collective investment schemes each quarter

Other assigned tasks

  • Ensure the completion of all other responsibilities that may be assigned to the portfolio management team

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of First Degree in relevant discipline
  • At least 2 year post national service experience
  • Knowledge in finance and investments is essential
  • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft office suites (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of economic conditions that affect the business
  • Demonstrates the understanding of different asset classes and how they relate to and interact with each other in various market conditions
