Job Description

Working with Oxfam In Ghana
Oxfam aims to bring lasting solutions for quality access to water, poverty, hunger, and injustice in the Ghana. Oxfam has worked in Ghana since 1986 with the focus on bridging the gap between progress made in the north and south, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, free universal quality education and health care, and promoting accountable governance and transparency in natural resource revenue management.

Job Purpose
The Head of Programmes and Campaigns will contribute to the development and implementation of the Country Strategic Plan. Work closely and collaboratively as a member of the Country Senior Management Team to lead delivery of programme objectives. Work with the Country Director for effective change management within Oxfam, keeping Oxfam relevant and progressive to changing internal and external contexts. Represent Oxfam at internal and external events and meetings as appropriate.

Required Skills or Experience

The post holder will:
  • Report to the Country Director and oversee the overall management of programmes, policy and campaigns initiatives and actions.
  • Support the Country Director to institute structural reform within Oxfam in Ghana Programme, focusing on changes to the programmes team (including, where necessary, supporting the recruitment of new staff).
  • Support, supervise, coach, and mentor all programme leads.
  • Have oversight responsibility for the overall country programmes budget with departments and thematic leads.
  • Be a member of the senior management team.
  • Deputise for the Country Director and act in his/her absence.
