The Cocoa Abrabopa Association (CAA) is an independent cocoa farmer Association established for the serious Ghanaian cocoa farmers. The Association is a non-political, non-profit organization seeking a Better Life for its members by professionalizing cocoa farming. The association has over 60 field staff involved in different operational activities. CAA is Rainforest Alliance Certified and has an Internal Management System to ensure compliance with the standards. As part of the standards additional verification activities need to be carried out in the operational areas of the association.

Job Description

Job Purpose
To supervise the Technical Officers of CAA, Embarks on cocoa agronomy services & production, coordination of farmers’ activities, credit recoveries and community relationship activities in the field.    

• Reports to:Extension Manager of the CAA   
• Responsible for: Technical Officers (Oversight responsibilities of the Technical Trainers, Surveyors, FDCO)

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Represent the Association and act as primary CAA contact to Association members and stakeholders in the operational area.
• Provide supervision to TOs with regards to all their key responsibilities
• Strongly support CAA’S monitoring and evaluation system, using data analysis as the basis for measuring performance. Ensure the M&E learning & cluster programme is incorporated into evolving working plans identifying and implementing appropriate solutions using information Technology.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of all the TOs within the Operational area on the basis of their key responsibilities and in line the PMS and report to your immediate supervisor.
• Ensure that the CAA strategic objectives and targets are fully accomplished by providing leadership and planning
• Monitor all CAA staff within your operational area to ensure high levels of motivation, commitment, capacity and teamwork.
• Prepare and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
• Relationship management among all the field staff;and between KCL&CAA
• Lead on the identification of cocoa business development trend in your operational area.
• Ensure integration collaboration between CAA and KCL in the implementation of the cocoa beans implement excellent salesmanship,branding and marketing of CAA.
• Performs any o Performs any other duties assigned by the Extension Manager/Management.

Required Skills or Experience

• Ability to plan, coach, mentor, implement and deliver field extension outcomes to CAA
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Ability to manage people and execute projects within agreed timelines.
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and long hours without compromising on values and standards of the CAA
• Demonstrate skills in sales & marketing
• Desire to serve cocoa farmers in all our operational areas in all the region.
• Desire and ability to remain updated with new agricultural trends and technology
• Excellent writing, reporting, oral communication, leadership and presentation skills
• Should be extensively knowledgeable in modern Extensions &Agricultural practices, field work ethics, rural & community development.
• Set clear targets, goals, working action plan and management towards them
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and relate well with all levels of staff across multi- cultural settings.
• Should have excellent communications skills as well as the flair, ability, presence and personality to constructively engage the Technical Officers to achieve CAA extension set targets.
• Must have a valid driving licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including word, excel and outlook
• Any other duties assigned by your superior.
