We train local people and communities in the latest video technologies, research and advocacy skills, enabling them to investigate, expose and combat local threats to wildlife and wild places, and the people who live alongside them. Job Description Programme Officer (Ghana) Location: Cape Coast, Ghana Reporting to: Ghana Country Coordinator Type: Full-time, for the duration of the project (2 years) after a 6 month trial period, potential for extension, subject to funding Salary: Commensurate with experience The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is looking for an organised, proactive and rigorous Programme Officer for its growing team in Ghana. With significant experience in supporting the implementation of development and advocacy projects, specifically in the fisheries sector, the Programme Officer will work closely with the Ghana Country Coordinator and the West Africa Programme Researcher to achieve EJF’s mission and objectives in Ghana. About the project The Far Dwuma Nkɔdo - Securing Sustainable Fisheries project is being implemented by EJF in partnership with Hen Mpoano. Its core aims are to promote food security and improved livelihood options for fishers and their families by: reducing illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities in Ghana’s waters; securing access to marine resources for small scale fishermen; and promoting participatory co-management of fisheries.
