Job Description

Position Summary:

• The Project Accountant is to support the Zonal Manager in the planning, implementation and performance of ALL financial related activities of the organization.
• He is also to ensure that the organization adheres to all statutory regulations of Ghana.

Duties:

• Support the Zonal Manager and the technical staff to ensure that rules and regulations are followed in a timely manner.
• Support to analyze and evaluate all proposed work plans and budgets submitted by to partners and donors.
• Assist the Finance Manager to ensure that the general accounting functions are completed on a timely basis.
• Support the Zonal Manager to ensure that organization adheres to Government of Ghana’s laws, including financial reporting, tax, labor and proper registration with all relevant authorities as required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Northern Zonal Manager and Country Project Manager.
• Keeping financial records of the organisation
• Preparation of Financial Statements and Reports
• Preparation of Annual Budgets in compliance with statutory policies
• Preparation of reconciliation statements
• Advice on procurement transactions
• Any other tasks assigned by management
• Monthly preparations of Payroll subject to Zonal Managers approval

Required Skills or Experience

• At least a first degree in accounting, or its equivalent, from a recognized institution OR
• At least level two (2) of ACCA, CA, etc. Plus
• At least two (3) years of relevant working experience.
