Job Description

Reports to: Programmes Manager

  • The Programmes Coordinator (PC) will assist the Programmes Manager in the supervision of the implementation of all project activities of the organization.
  • The PC will assist to oversee the effective implementation of the project activities by ensuring that Field Officers work according to plan. He/she will also assist to support sub recipients and direct field staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Field Officers to develop activity plans
  • Assist the Programmes Manager to supervise the activities of Field Officers
  • Collate monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual reports narrative reports of Field Officers.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and submission of programme reports on quarterly basis or as may be required.
  • Provide technical backstopping for Field Officers, partners and sub recipients at the community level. Provide guidance in the planning, implementation and monitoring of programme activities on the field and also offer technical assistance as and when appropriate
  • Assist in the development of a criteria for the identification and authentication of project beneficiaries
  • Lead the development and sharing of success stories and lessons learnt with key stakeholders
  • Attend meetings and conferences as may be deemed necessary by supervisors
  • Assist in building the capacity of Field Officers, partners and collaborator project related activities
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Programme Manager, Northern Zonal Manager, Deputy Country manager and Country Project Manager

Required Skills or Experience

  • First degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development
  • Five (5) years’ experience in project coordination in a comparable organization
  • She/he should be proactive in designing new strategies to improve performance
  • Skills in capacity building and effective communication
  • Computer literate and ability to use project management software will be added advantage.
