Job Description

Reports to: Project Coordinator

The Field Officer-Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) will be responsible for the implementation of activities related to the WASH component of the project as stipulated in the work plan and assigned by supervisors.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the implementation of the day to day activities of the WASH component
  • Create a good rapport between the organization and stakeholders in the WASH sector in the regional, district and community level
  • Prepare timely and periodic reports on activities implemented according to the template provided by M & E unit and programmes department
  • Organize workshops, seminars, meetings, orientations  and trainings  at the district and community level
  • Responsible for the planning, implementation and reporting on all activity areas of the project
  • Assist in the collation of data from the project area as directed by the M & E unit
  • Performs other duties and undertakes other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

  • A first University Degree in Water/Civil Engineering or related qualifications
  • Two (2) years’ working experience on any WASH project
  • Computer literate
  • Skills in report writing and planning
  • Ability to mobilize opinion leaders to participate in the organization’s activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
