Job Description

Working with Oxfam In Ghana:
Oxfam aims to bring lasting solutions for poverty, and injustice in the Ghana. Oxfam has worked in Ghana since 1986 with the focus on bridging the gap between progress made in the north and south, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, free universal quality education and health care, and promoting accountable governance and transparency in natural resource revenue management.

Job Purpose:
To coordinate and lead the market-based initiatives and private sector programme geared towards sustainable and inclusive livelihoods and women’s economic leadership in agricultural value chains. Contribute to Oxfam’s vision in Ghana as part of Economic Justice team. This will mean collaborating with suitable academia, civil society partners and private firms, to set up a collaborative and innovative multi-stakeholder platforms on sustainable and inclusive market-based livelihoods and women economic empowerment in agricultural value chains. Identifying suitable partners for establishment and management of market-based livelihood, the initial focus would be on sustainable and inclusive agri-business and agriculture related financial services. Establish strategic partnership with local and national private sector networks and policy makers. In collaboration with other leads in the Economic Justice team, and relevant partner affiliates, identify and set up an ecosystem and pipeline of private sector investment from the existing Oxfam livelihood initiatives. The position requires the management of a budget and significant processes, representation, and relationships building, particularly with partners and external contacts.

Required Skills or Experience

What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a professional with strong interest and experienced in women’s economic empowerment or economic and rural livelihoods with triple bottom-line investing and exposure to financial inclusion. If you have knowledge on private sector business tools and standards and experience in business development and venture funding is highly desirable, with good understanding of thematic sectors such as agriculture, climate change and financial services, this may be an opportunity for you.
