Reporting To: Head of Technology Initiatives

Summary/Objective
As a member of the Software Development team you will design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software solutions that facilitate the Company’s core business and day-to-day operations. You will work as part of a small team to deliver high quality applications that may be used internally by the Company’s business units or externally by the Company’s clients/customers and partners. If/when you’re experienced enough you will also be expected to show leadership within the team, supporting, coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Essential Functions:

• Researching, designing and writing new software programs
• Developing existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
• Analyzing user requirements
• presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals
• Producing detailed specifications and test plans; and writing the program codes
• Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live
• Integrating existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together
• Writing and testing code and then refining and rewriting as necessary
• Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, designers, developers, business analysts, systems analysts, and sales and marketing professionals
• Investigating new technologies
• Testing new programs procured and fault finding
• Preparation of training manuals for users
• Maintaining the systems once they are up and running
• Continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications

Required Skills or Experience

We are looking for exceptional, self-motivated candidates with a keen interest in computing. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in most or all of the following technologies:

• Microsoft .NET Framework, C#
• SQL Server, SQL/T-SQL, PostgreSQL
• Python
• ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS\
