Job Description

AngloGold Ashanti (Iduapriem) Ltd (MIL) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the role of Mine Planning Superintendent. 

Role Summary 

• This role is to perform the duties of the Long-term and medium-term planning team and monitoring the activities of the short-term planning team and mining operations.

Role Accountabilities 

• Update annually the Long-term plans and schedules in line with the Mine's approved Strategy and Options, and in accordance with the AGA's business planning calendar. 
• Develop rolling 18 months plan and schedule at the beginning of each quarter and perform Quarterly reconciliations against the rolling 18 months plan at the end of each quarter. 
• Provide inputs into the Business plan development Planning processes such that the Business planning does not deviate from the strategic options developed. 
• Provide inputs into the generation of the BOPs following guidelines provided by the Long Term Superintendent by ensuring that key input parameters are considered with intention of acttieving quarterly targets. 
• Assist in providing guidance on the dumping places on the short- to medium-term horizon and ensure that the 12 Monthly forecasts are aligned to the long-term waste dumping schedules. 
• Perform detailed study and analysis on critical Contractual KPls covering as the minimum D&B, L&H, HME and Fuel Management 
• Model behavior that is consistent with the AngloGold Ashanti Safety Vision and Values. Contribute to the identification of safety and operational risks and resolve and escalating emerging issues that impact on area of accountability. 

Required Skills or Experience

• Possess a Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent 
• Seven or more years of mine planning experience in the hard rock open pit environment. 
• Hands on experience in both Long-term and Medium-term planning activities with Talpac, Xpac, Datamine, Selpac, Whittle software packages. 
• Hands on experience in open pit gold mining production/ operations. 
• Hands on experience in mine financial modelling and preparation of mine budget estimates. 
• Registered or qualified to be registered as Professional Engineer with a minimum of Mine Captain Certificate of Competence.
