Job Description

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The CEO will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the Company, and will perform the following tasks among others:
  • Developing the Company’s business, operational and compliance plans, programmes & guidelines, and conducting periodic reviews and revisions.
  • Ensuring corporate growth and expansion, and optimal provision of premium assurance and other financial products and services to its clientele
  • Leading and directing the activities of the Company in implementing policies, plans & programmes to achieve performance goals and profitability.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that the internal and external operations of the Company’s business fulfill all applicable compliance standards, and conducting the necessary quality assurance checks on a periodic basis.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely development and submission of operational, financial, internal control and other business & statutory reports to the Board, relevant Statutory Bodies and Regulators.
  • Representing the Company in engagements with professional organisations and multi-stakeholders, and managing and maintaining critical relationships.
  • Ensuring a productive and harmonious work ethic, corporate culture and constructive work attitudes among managers and staff within the Company

Required Skills or Experience

The CEO will be a seasoned professional with the following credentials:

  • Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) Professional Certification; or a Professional Insurance Qualification recognized by the National Insurance Commission (NIC) as being equivalent to the ACII Advanced Diploma.
  • An advanced degree in an analytical field or an MBA, would support the above.
  • At least 12 years' post-qualification work experience, with 5 years at a relevant senior management level, with demonstrated decision-making competencies.
  • A proven track record and deep & broad technical proficiency, particularly within the relevant areas of the Company’s insurance business.
  • A high level of business acumen and demonstrated ability to plan strategies and deliver concrete and measureable results.
  • Ability to handle clients, partners and other stakeholder collaborations and engagements to successful conclusions.
  • Reporting excellence, with acute attention to detail.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate staff.
  • Integrity, honesty and reliability – A candidate should not be found to have flouted any NIC rules and procedures.
