Job Description

  • Project: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) 
  • Reports to: Business Project Manager 
  • Location: Based in Tamale with frequent day and/or overnight travel to rural areas across the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Region. 

 
PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator (PC) plays a key role in planning, designing, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of the Household Water Treatment System (HWTS) project The PC will work both in the field and Head Office (Tamale), ensuring effective implementation of project activities. As part of the HWTS team, the PC responsibilities indude working closely with our Project Manager and HCD designers to complete research comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects. You will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 

  • Reports directly to the Business Project Manager 
  • Has Project Coordinators (PC) as their direct reports 
  • As a member of the HWTS, works in close collaboration with the wider Ghana team 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support the HCD market research for HWTS projects 
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information 
  • Help prepare budgets & facilitate engagements with operations team 
  • Setup meetings with key stakeholders 
  • Support the implementation of HWTS business plan 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduated from university with degree in Business, Project Management, Market Analytics 
  • At least 3 years' practical experience in project management and or business development 
  • Experience working in rural areas 
  • Capacity to analyze products/processes/people and think out of the box 
  • Strong organizational skills - including attention to detail, multi-tasking, following schedules 
  • Available for regular travel across Ghana 
  • Knowledge of sanitation, water and small business management is an asset 
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented 
  • Excellent spoken and written English 
  • Knowledge of local languages in the three Northern regions & Twl is an asset 
  • Microsoft Word, Excel. and PowerPoint 
  • Familiarity with task management software is an asset 
  • Effective Communicator 
  • Has a valid driver's license
