A private security company is searching for an experienced and ambitious professional to fill this position:Security Operations Manager
Job Purpose
The position reports to the Managing Director and serves as a Lead for the Operations Team.The position is responsible for leading and planning all Operations Department activities. This includes recruiting, training, deploying and supervising guards and other personnel within the Operations Department as well as various other security products to meet the client’s unique needs.
Key responsibilities (includes but not limited to the following)
- Oversee and manage the recruitment, selection and training processes of guards and other operations personnel.
- Design policies on operations and other incident/risk handling procedures.
- Design and recommend to management for adoption improved and sound practices within the private security services industry.
- On a continuing basis, ensure that adequate risk assessment is conducted on all new as well as existing clients.
- Recommend and lead the deployment of various security products to clients.
- Maintain a register of attendance for all operations staff.
- Maintain a complaint and incidence log on behalf of the company.
- Client relationship management including deployment, incidence reporting and complaints handling.
- Research, develop and recommend new products, policies and procedures for adoption by Management.
- Act as liaison between the Company and public security agencies
- Designing a comprehensive training curriculum for the training of Security guards.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by Management of the Company.
Required Skills or Experience
- A good first degree.
- Previous experience as a Director of Operations or similar in a reputable private security organisation.
- Alternatively an ex-serviceman not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent or equivalent.
- Entrepreneurial attitude

- Flexible and able to work non-traditional hours, holidays, nights and weekends
- Socially engaged, easy communicator, convincing and representative attitude
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must have good business Acumen and a good negotiator
- Must be creative and resourceful with excellent technical and superior analytical skills to combine different types of information intelligently to find patterns and Issues, and then articulate these findings in a simple and transparent manner.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Skilful in project planning/ tasks and able to prioritize projects/ tasks.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint mandatory)
