Job Description

Our client, a global commodity trading and processing company is currently looking for an organized and responsible Regional Manager Services (Mechanical & Technical WORK) to help with their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The ideal candidate should have understanding for mechanical and technical work and vehicle-tracking systems have excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

He/She will directly oversee all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking mechanical performance, oversee all internal purchases of spare parts. 

Roles/Responsibilities

Repairs & Maintenance

  • Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations
  • Ensure all machinery is up to working standards
  • Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency
  • Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems
  • Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing
  • quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment etc.)
  • Create a work environment with safety as a high priority
  • Perform evaluations of employees to ensure quality of work
  • Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to national laws and
  • company policy
  • Recommend and organize training for drivers

 i-Track Monitoring and Control

  • Liaising between company and the service provider
  • Initiating the process of installing tracking system in newly acquired company vehicles
  • Supervising and granting access to clients on the tracking system.
  • Analyzing and interpreting the reports of the i-Track systems administrator
  • Recommending and implanting sanctions on defaulting drivers based on tracking reports
  • Evaluating the system performance and recommending needed changes

 Ensure efficiency in i-track system and truck maintenance

  • Develop cost cutting strategies to repair and maintain trucks
  • Ensure all trucks are in good condition, active and available for dispatch
  • Report on faulty trucks and repaired vehicles including inventory of all vehicle parts

Required Skills or Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, mechanical engineering, transport and logistics management or any related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years relevant experience in repair & maintenance

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems
  • Previous managerial experience highly preferred
  • Experience managing multiple vendors
  • Can effectively and efficiently handle mechanical responsibilities
  • Excellent communication
  • Good analytical & Excellent IT skills.
  • Good geographic knowledge of Ghana.
  • Road transport background preferred.
