Job Description

Job Summary
The GIS/INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER will co-ordinate all activities regarding DKT Customer Relationship Management System (CRMS) and will ensure data are used for program improvements. This includes developing GIS, CRMS, Research and Monitoring Systems to meet DKT’s needs, collecting, analyzing and reporting to meet internal and donor requirements.  That is;
  • Under direction of the GM Operations, plan, coordinate, oversee and participates in the development, implementation, integration, operation, and maintenance of DKT’s geographic information system (GIS) and Customer Relationship Management Systems (DKTCRMS);
  • Design and implement information systems for provision of access to Sales, GIS and operational data; 
  • Develop and implement specialized Applications; 
  • Oversee the design and development of all databases associated with the GIS base map; 
  • Perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility including data entry and analysis. 
Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Under direction of GM-Operations, plan, coordinate, oversee and participates in the development, implementation, integration, operation, and maintenance of DKT’s geographic information system (GIS) and Customer Relationship System (CRM);

  • Lead the development, training, deployment and  maintenance of DKT Ghana CRMS
  • Plan and participate in the acquisition, installation, administration, and operation of the DKT’s geographic information system (GIS) and CRM systems;
  • Oversee software installations and updates for the GIS and CRM system(s).
  • Coordinate and perform orientation for staff in the operation of the geographic information system and CRMS. 
  • Provide graphic services including preparation, layout, and design of a variety of reports, displays, literature, maps and computer graphics; 
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of digital GIS maps and data files. 
  • Supervise the use, care and operation of GIS equipment. 

Design and implement information systems for provision of access to GIS/CRM data; 

  • In collaboration with the IT Manager serve as system administrator for DKT Ghana CRMS ensuring that application software and hardware operates efficiently and meets DKT’s needs for information technology;
  • Update layers as changes occur
  • Develop and tailor special applications to meet user needs

Oversee the design and development of all databases associated with the GIS base map; 

  • Design and develop all databases associated with the GIS base map including relational databases; 
  • Develop standards and strategies for maintaining database security
  • Meet with various GIS users and Information Services management to plan and discuss system requirements; provide project status updates as needed. 

Assist to develop research and monitoring instruments to meet DKT’s needs

  • Design and/or review GIS enhanced systems to meet both DKT’s internal marketing and sales needs, as well as DKT’s donor-reporting requirements
  • Design web-based research instruments, in line with existing best-practices, to meet the needs of DKT’s various programs 

Collect and analyze data to meet internal and donor-reporting requirements

  • Lead habitual (e.g. quarterly, semi-annual) web-based data collection exercises
  • Create detailed and insightful reports tailored to the recipient (e.g. Country Director, Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, Programs Manager, etc.)

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties related to field operations, as assigned by GM- Operations 
  • Contribute to Monitoring & Evaluation sections of reports and new proposals, especially concerning GIS
  • Ensure confidentiality in handling business related issues

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years GIS/CRMS experience
  • Minimum of 5 year M&E experience 
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing GIS applications
  • Uses, capabilities, and operational characteristics of JAVA and HTML 5; geographic information systems equipment and specialized hardware including ArcInfo, ArcView and computer mapping applications. 
  • Efficient in the design and development of databases and mobile applications
