Assistant Driller Trainee (ADT) - Roles & Responsibilities:

• Must have a full understanding of the Assistant Driller Trainee Programme.
• Must comply with the ADT - Training Programme and produce the relevant reports and documentation as required to the relevant Supervisor.
• Must ensure work programme is carried out as instructed by Offshore Mentor.
• Must have good knowledge and understanding of the Stena Drilling Management System.
• Report to Offshore Mentor & Shorebase Programme Manager as per programme.
• Full commitment in area/department of secondment and carry out instructions as delegated by relevant Supervisors.
• Must be fully committed to working safely as per Stena Drilling Policies and Procedures and to accepting responsibility for safety of fellow crew members.
• Responsible for ensuring that said instructions are carried out safely and efficiently and must ensure competence in the use of relevant equipment and its safe operation.
• Maintain a good working environment within working area and inform Supervisor regarding unusual/unsafe conditions and situations within work area.
• Must ensure daily maintenance of equipment is carried out as instructed or planned.
• Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping in all work areas.
• Responsible for ensuring, when instructed by Supervisor, that Planned Maintenance on drilling equipment is carried out as required and that any anomalies are reported immediately to Supervisor.
• Participate in derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks thoroughly and timely and ensure any anomalies are reported immediately to Supervisor.
• Attend Meetings as and when Instructed by Supervisor.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Work according to and promote Stena Drilling’s HS&E Policies and Procedures as well as fully commit to preventing any damage to the environment.
• Responsible and accountable to conduct their tasks in full compliance with Stena Drilling  procedures.
• Comply with Stena Drilling procedures for management of risk and Safe Behaviour Programme; ensuring that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out for all work activities.
• Participate in the STOP system, complete and submit cards after discussions. Monitor and coach crew members to participate in STOP and carry out STOP audits.
• Promote Stena Drilling’s “Golden Rules” and the rig’s “House Rules” during team discussions.
• Attend and participate in Tool Box Talks and After Action Reviews.
• Ensure work site is safe and that all tools used are in a satisfactory condition.
• Ensure that storage, handling and use of chemicals are done in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure equipment is secured to prevent movement due to wind or rig motion.
• Ensure familiar with correct use, type and location of all Oil Spill Equipment.
• Comply with Stena Drilling’s waste segregation policy.

• Previous Assistant Driller or extensive Derrickman experience
• 8 years relevant experience
• Previous experience with similar drilling equipment

• IWCF Well Control – Level 3 Driller
• High Pressure Testing
• TAG
• Height – Work at Height and Harness Equipment User – Unit 2

• Banksman Slinger
• Forklift Safety
• Confined Space Rescue
• HP Washdown
• Mobile Access Tower Appreciation

• Previous experience on similar installation.
• Good communication skills
• Good PC skills
• Complete Stena Drilling’s Competence Assurance Scheme by the end of the training programme.
• Carry out training as required by the Company and as detailed in the Assistant Driller Trainee Programme.
• Must participate in onboard training as directed by the Department Supervisor.
• Complete Well Control Courses: Driller Level.
• Complete IADC Rotary Drilling Unit.
