Job Description

• Collect payment for drinks served and balance cash receipts
• Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
• Serve wine and bottled or draft beer and mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters in order to prepare cocktails and other drinks
• Clean bars, work areas and tables and arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
• Serve snacks to customers at the bar and slice and pit fruits for garnishing drinks
• Order of requisition liquors and supplies
• Plan, organize and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar
• Supervise the work of bar staff and other bartenders
• Plan bar menus and prepare appetizers such as pickles, cheese and cold meats
• Create drink recipes

Required Skills or Experience

• Must be a good communicator and listener
• Must be organized and be good with multitasking
• Must have a good memory
• Must be affable and have a good sense of humour
• At least one year work experience in related field
• Must be able to accommodate diverse clientele
• Must be familiar with TIPS (Training for Alcohol intervention Procedures)
