Our client, an international manufacturing company is currently looking for a highly experienced and proactive Electrical Foreman to help with their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing electrical works, projects and supervise electrical personnel

Roles/Responsibilities

• Plans and manages electrical works, projects and supervise personnel. 
• Monitor performance of electrical maintenance personnel (internal and external).
• Develop, inform and motivate its team, ensuring competencies and skills development according to technical innovations, plant or personal needs.
• Support the Maintenance Manager in the elaboration and control of the maintenance budget ensuring planning and follow-up of costs.
• Implement effective and systematic solutions to achieve budget and to meet or exceed targets.
• Trains and instructs subordinates on electrical procedures.
• Conducts periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments; assures availability of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Estimates the time and material costs required for projected jobs; keeps cost and job records and submits reports; initiates requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Enforces safety regulations, rules, and working conditions.
• Determine and schedule the necessary actions of corrective and preventive electrical maintenance to assure proper functioning of electrical equipment’s and installations.
• Ensure electrical maintenance team full time readiness to efficiently tackle emergencies or urgent breakdowns.
• Prepare weekly work orders according to preventive maintenance plans or scheduled corrective maintenance actions.

Required Skills or Experience

Education

Degree/Diploma in Electrical engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.

Experience

Minimum five years’ working experience as an electrical Foreman.

Requirements

• Ability to provide on-site direction and leadership for workers in order to complete jobs on time.
• Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
• Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
• Ability to supervise the work of skilled workers.
• Considerable knowledge of the National Electrical Code for electrical installations.
• Ability to interpret and work from instructions, sketches, specifications, schematics and blue prints.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors, subordinates and vendors.
• Ability to estimate materials and labor costs.
• Electronics troubleshooting skills
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Safety program management and implementation
• Attention to detail
• Experience in electrical maintenance operations
