Job Description

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles on the mine site.
• Ensure that scheduled maintenance programs are in line with the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain a complete inventory system by recording all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc.
• Monitor user departments by providing analysis of vehicle and equipment utilization and evaluation of equipment specifications.
• Implement and maintain a mechanic training and certification program to provide needed technical skills for mechanics in repair of automobiles and heavy equipment.
• Assist in the development of the fleet services budget.
• Direct procurement of all types of materials, supplies, and parts required to maintain light vehicles.
• Coordinate light vehicles repairs and maintenance services to obtain maximum utilization of light vehicles and prevent operational delays in other departments

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering its equivalent from a recognised University
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in light vehicle maintenance of which three(3) years must be in a supervisory role
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, parts and service manuals
• A valid Ghanaian Driving License
• Must be able to carry out  mobile equipment inspections and maintenance
• Must be able to identify defects on equipment
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Reliable, high attention to details and honest
• Must have business acumen
• Good Microsoft office skills
• Proven record of an effective people management skills
