Job Description

• Assist to develop, implement and review robust systems to facilitate shipping and logistics operations.
• Liaise with the Shipping and Logistics Manager to prepare and roll out daily and periodic operational plans for effective delivery of logistics and shipping activities and processes.
• Liaise with suppliers and clients, establish relationships with freight companies to improve freight delivery performance.
• Supervise and coordinate the prompt delivery of cleared goods at designated warehouses at all destinations.
• Handles and monitors tracking of importation for all chemicals and other products of the company.
• Audit all import and export processes and paperwork to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements in all operational bases.
• Liaise with clearing and transit agents in the preparation of documents required to clear goods for import or export.
• Monitor technical and  regulatory changes in the shipping and logistics environment and inform same for decision-making and policy direction.
• Coordinate the company’s supply chain to ensure that stakeholders such as suppliers, accounts, treasury, shipping companies, terminal operators, and transporters, among others,  effectively adhere to contractual obligations.
• Liaise with warehouse and logistics officers control and monitor the smooth flow of materials in and out of the warehouses.
• Reconcile goods delivered to the various warehouses and report on same, noting any discrepancies or overages, thereof together with the Inventory Supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

• A University degree in Shipping/Logistics  or Business Administration (Supply Chain option) or related field
• A professional qualification in Supply Chain/Shipping (ICM etc.)
• Must have Industry experience of 5 – 7 years
