Job Description

Job Functions:

• The Vice-Chancellor, under the direction of the University Council, is the Academic and Administrative Head as well as the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University. 
• He/She is also responsible to the University Council for maintaining and promoting good order and efficiency of the University as prescribed by the Statutes of the University.

Tenure of office: Candidates must be able to hold office for a minimum of four years from the date of appointment before attaining the retirement age of 60 years

Conditions of Service: 

• Very attractive terms and conditions of office which are determined by the Council of the University and are consistent with the Technical Universities Act 2016 (Act 922), Statutes of the Ho Technical University and the Harmonised Scheme of Service for Technical Universities in Ghana.
• The Salary and Conditions of Service to this position are very attractive and comparable to those in analogous universities in Ghana.

Required Skills or Experience

• Candidates must be Full Professors with outstanding academic record. However, Associate Professors with extensive and exceptional administrative and research experience may apply. 
• Candidates must be individuals of stature and integrity with exemplary leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, zeal, energy and the capacity for mobilizing resources needed to carry out the University's vision and enhance its visibility. 

They must also show evidence of the following qualities: 

• an internationally acclaimed and/or distinguished scholar; 
• demonstrated ability or potential to manage a Technical University or analogous institution; 
• a visionary, business-oriented and able to establish rapport between the University and industry; 
• a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct Staff; 
• excellent communication and inter-personal skills; 
• capacity to manage and control crisis situations; 
• ability to foster and promote good internal and external relations of the University, 
• proven ability to provide strong visionary leadership and innovation; and 
• maturity and above reproach.
