Job Description

To develop the music ministry for our church, in consultation with the Senior Pastor and worship team members, in a way that is consistent with the Baptist International Church mission, values, and theology.

The Music Director shall:

• Provide musical leadership for Sunday Services of Worship
• Oversee and coordinate musical ensembles.
• Provide music and musical guidance for incidental services (eg. Weddings, funerals, and ordinations).
• Supervise choir calendar
• Conduct rehearsals
• Supervise maintenance, care, and use of the church’s musical instruments, including the organs.
• Represent music concerns at meetings
• Select appropriate choral and organ music, as well as hymns, for rehearsals and Sunday service.

Required Skills or Experience

• Authentic relationship with Jesus  Christ as Savior and Lord
• Ability to shepherd volunteer musicians in the Christian life
• Committed to the church’s vision, leadership and people
• Strong team player
• Attested musical skills and competence
• Dependable, responsible, self- motivated and disciplined
• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in music will be an added advantage.
