PPAG, a leading provider of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education, information, and services in Ghana, in close collaboration with OXFAM, hereby invites result-oriented and committed persons to apply for the following vacant position to be filled in the Association.

Job Description

INTRODUCTION

PPAG is a local non-governmental organization in Ghana and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The mission of the association is to provide Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right (SRHR) information and services to all people in Ghana especially the young and vulnerable towards enhancing quality of life.

PPAG has over the past 51 years provided health services especially in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights to the people of the Ghana. Currently PPAG has 11 clinics across the country that provide services which includes Family planning, Comprehensive Abortion Care, HIV, STI, Obstetrical services, laboratory services, Cervical Cancer screening and treatment, Minor ailments amongst others. With the experience gained in service delivery coupled with qualified service providers, PPAG is planning to venture into the provision of training services for health professionals in Ghana. PPAG hopes to offer courses that provide Continuous Development Programmes (CDPs) option for nurses with the aim of creating an enabling environment for health professionals to acquire knowledge and be well informed especially in the area of SRHR. PPAG is therefore seeking for the services of a consultant to support the establishment of this training institute.

POSITION:           CONSULTANT

LOCATION:         PPAG HEAD OFFICE

REPORT TO:        PPAG MANAGEMENT

DURATION:       1ST NOVEMBER TO 7TH DECEMBER 2018

JOB PURPOSE:

Establish the PPAG training institute and assist in, obtaining accreditation from the Nurses and Midwifery Council and any other accreditation agency that might be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The person will carry out the following duties in close cooperation with PPAG management.

·         Development of training modules/packs for the training centre – this should include courses to be rolled out and the training manuals.

·         Develop a one-year time table for the programme – this should include the various courses/programmes that will run within the year (2019) and the time periods.

·         Advice management of PPAG on the administrative structure of the training institute.

·         Develop Terms of Reference (ToRs) for resource persons and support PPAG to identify and recruit resource persons for the training institute.

·         Develop a business and marketing plan for the training institute

·         Support PPAG to come up with a costing framework – this will help with setting of costs charges for the various courses.

·         Advice on re-arrangement of the current learning centre including facilities for practical sessions.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES/DELIVERABLES

·         PPAG training centre set up and accreditation by the Nurses and Midwifery Council

·         Courses and Training modules developed

·         Schedule of courses  developed for 2019

·         A well set up Administrative structure

·         Job descriptions for Resources persons developed

·         Resource persons identified and recruited

·         Costing framework developed for all courses

·         Training hall and facility for practical training set-up
