Job Description

A reputable and rapidly growing organization is seeking the services of a smart, confident, performance oriented and experienced professional to occupy the position of Finance Officer.

JOB SUMMARY, RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • The primary role of the Finance Officer is to process and post approved transactions, perform periodic reviews on the general ledgers, provide accounting information to management, and generate financial statements for the branches and filing tax returns.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting – Assist in the preparation of the Institution’s  budget by ensuring that branches, units and departments submit their opex and capex and collate opex and capex from branches, units and departments.
  • Maintaining complete documentation of all financial transactions by checking accuracy of payment voucher; posting all approved invoices and bills into appropriate accounts.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and payments before the due date. 
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly returns to Bank of Ghana before the due date.
  • Provide relevant records to internal and external auditors and provide explanations to internal and external auditors on financial records.
  • Preparing proofs for all internal accounts and ensure that errors identified are corrected promptly. 
  • Update fixed asset register regularly and ensure that the institution’s fixed assets are properly recorded and labelled. Requesting for update monthly from the branches on their fixed assets register.
  • Checking accuracy of payment vouchers and filing of payment vouchers into appropriate place.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION/TRAINING
The custodian of this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with part qualification in ACCA, CIMA or ICAG.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial services for clients and institutions.
