Job Description
The Role
- The successful candidate will work closely with our Head of Monitoring and Evaluation (UK based) to ensure that our current suite of technology is kept running and up to date. You will also be reporting to our country manager, based in Tamale.
- The successful candidate will be required to work at pace in creating dashboards (using PowerBi) which will help inform our staff and GES colleagues where they should focus their efforts. The successful candidate is expected to be responsible for the design and implementation of PowerBi Dashboards and ensuring that they serve end user requirements.
- The successful candidate will be required to offer first and second line technical support to end users and manage third line (computer shop) repairs.
- The successful candidate will be required to evaluate and modify internet performance.
- The successful candidate will be expected to troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyse and isolate issues.
- The successful candidate will also be responsible for all technology within the organisation. Ensuring that we achieve the maximum benefit from all of the tools at our disposal.
- The successful candidate will also be the system administrator for all of our software packages. Including, but not limited to; Google Suite, O365, Dropbox, PowerBi.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of existing systems.
- The successful candidate will also be expected to make recommendations on the procurement of new devices and systems.
- The successful candidate will ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
- The successful candidate will be expected to make recommendations for future upgrades whilst maintaining network and system security.
- The successful candidate will be required to maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for administering servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
- You will also be expected to help the organisation in other ways and, when required, your role may require some non-IT related work
Required Skills or Experience
Skills Required
- Excellent knowledge of Excel formulae.
- Ability to learn and understand new technology quickly
- An understanding of technical concepts and systems.
- Good knowledge of both mobile devices and laptops
- Ability to problem solve.
- The ability to explain complex concepts in succinct and easy to understand ways.
Skills Desired
- Knowledge of DAX formulae
- Knowledge of M Query (PowerBi)
- Knowledge of APIs and their use.
- Some experience in conducting training or teaching
