Job Description

Responsibilities 

You will need to develop skills in HES compliance such as: 

• Hazard identification and Job Safety Analysis 
• Permit to work system 
• Waste segregation and disposal 

You will need to develop skills in specific control disciplines such as: 

• Distributed Control Systems (DCS) 
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) 
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). 
• Power Systems – Generators / Transformers / Switchgear / MCC / Motors / Lighting /etc. 

The use of these disciplines will depend on the exact nature of your individual job. In general however, tasks and responsibilities can include: 

• designing and developing new control systems 
• Good usage in job related drawings (P&ID, PFD and electrical drawings) and manuals for testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems analyzing data and presenting findings in written managing operations 
• working collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff 
• liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities 
• project management within cost and time constrained environments 
• understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards 
• providing advice on purchasing equipment

• Your work shall be based in a field location. 
• Your work may carry high levels of responsibility and may be stressful 
• You may be required to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and within budget. 
• Some locations may be remote or hostile.

Note:

• This is a contract position for an initial one(1) year, renewable
• The position may require travels to Takoradi

Required Skills or Experience

• HND / BACHELORS degree in any of the following: 
  • applied physics or physics 
  • electrical engineering 
  • mechatronic engineering
• 8 to 10 years of experience
• Degree accreditation from one of the below:
  • Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET)
  • Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC
  • Local Professional Body- Ghana/Nigerian Institution of Engineers
• Experience from either of the below sectors is required
  • Oil & Gas
  • Power Generation
  • Utilities
