Job Description

Principal Accountabilities

  • Identify potential customers and develop and implement the commercial business plan for each institution.
  • Conduct and periodically update market research for downstream oil industry within the country as well as competitor analysis of market activities.
  • Identify the strengths of OMC business partners and their value to the PWSL-BDC sales network.
  • Develop a plan for each OMC client on the type of business to be developed based on the market study and in consultation with the management team of the client.
  • Prospect for and finalise supply agreements with OMC’s.
  • Prospect for, develop and secure significant market share in the export business along the West African Coast and beyond.
  • Co-ordinate brand and communications activities to enhance optimum brand experience for all customers within the county.
  • Develop and manage market-related brand and communication initiatives to optimise usage, consistency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate marketing information is communicated to customers and coordinate training and education of concerned individuals to support marketing initiatives.
  • Act as brand custodian for all communications to customers and keep abreast of all major news items related to PWSL-BDC.
  • Carry out market research, competitor analysis and benchmarking within Regional Markets as well as monitoring competitor brand and communication initiatives.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A good first degree in the Humanities with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Must be adept at managing several projects simultaneously whilst working to a budget and meeting deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience of dealing with external suppliers and clients, as well as proven ability to deliver creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Public / Media perception and communication on PWSL-BDC.
  • Top-of-mind awareness about the PWSL-BDC brand.
  • Quality of marketing communications and initiatives, both within & outside the organisation.
