Job Description

Working with Oxfam In Ghana
Oxfam aims to bring lasting solutions for poverty, and injustice in the Ghana. Oxfam has worked in Ghana since 1986 with the focus on bridging the gap between progress made in the north and south, sustainable agricultural livelihoods, free universal quality education and health care, and promoting accountable governance and transparency in natural resource revenue management.

The Role

  • The Programme Coordinator will play key role in leading and coordinating the implementation of the Accountable and Democratic Governance Programme and ensure quality delivery within the Programmes and Campaigns Team in accordance with the Oxfam country strategy. 
  • The Coordinator will manage programme implementation with high standards of quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Acts as a reference point on accountable and democratic governance helping to synthesise and analyse progress against agreed plans to inform strategic decision making and prioritisation. 
  • The post holder will ensure coordination and cross learning among the governance projects and manage donor contacts on behalf of Oxfam in Ghana.

Required Skills or Experience

What we are looking for

  • We are looking for a strong leader with a minimum of five years’ relevant work experience in influencing and advocacy especially related to issues of governance. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage relationship with a consortia and partners, to oversee reporting process and ensure high quality and timely donor deliverable. 
  • Experienced managing people to motivate and inspire team members to maximise full potential while providing guidance and feedback for staff on project design, implementation and monitoring
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of gender and its connection with issues of governance while adhering to programme requirements and standards in relation to approved systems and programme implementation plan, project cycle management, programme quality and programme learning and other requirements
  • Experience in project management and monitoring is essential with strong individual planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritise, coordinate, control and forward plan several tasks at the same time, without supervision and within tight timing constraints.
