Job Description

Our client, an international Shipping company is looking to hire a competent and proactive SALES STEERING COORDINATOR to help with their day to day operations.

Role Profile

The successful candidate will be responsible for Sales performance, ship space allocation management as well as internal / external sales performance.

He/She will be responsible for the preparation of internal budgets, weekly KPI’s and optimize the Sales result by planning and steering the sales force and managing the Sub-Area allocation of ships’ space.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Allocate Management as Area /Regional guidelines:
  • Identify services vessel lacking cargo
  • Allocation management / optimise cargo mix in coordination with Trade Management
  • Support Sales Management with market analysis, opportunity identification and performance management 
  • Maintain competition, offer data and benchmark the company services.
  • Monitor performance of local and foreign customer bases
  • Monitor the specific performance per customer 
  • Identify which customers are behind expectations
  • Prepare budget and weekly volume forecast
  • Weekly report consolidation for sales management  

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration, Previous experience in the Shipping Industry would also be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role and industry

Key skills and Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with persons of varying levels.
  • Must have active knowledge of market, maritime documents and commercial terms
  • Must have active knowledge of English “maritime” language
  • Must be a quick learner of software systems and packages.
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office based applications, with emphasis on excel and macro’s.
  • Must be able to work with several software systems simultaneously
