Job Description

  • Department: Finance
  • Reports Directly to: Head, Finance

 
Scope of Responsibilities         

  • To have an insight and understanding of the financial performance of the Company and contribute to the strategic and day to day commercial decision making process.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily reconciliation for all foreign account and ensure all reconciling items are posted into general ledger.
  • Monitor schedule of matured Investments, rollover updates and relaying the information to marketers.
  • Prepare treasury dashboard, review and cash utilization advice.
  • Prepare monthly ALCO Reports and minutes
  • Manage placements with other institutions and ensure that interest income on placements are paid on time and corresponds with interest income schedule.
  • Revaluate foreign currency monthly.
  • Provide Assist to close the month by ensuring that investments transaction, interest on investments and bank reconciliation differences are correctly posted.
  • Prepare for Monthly Performance Review, Transaction processing and passing of entries (Salaries, CAGD Loans etc.)
  • Maintain accurate schedule on funds received from Lend a Hand and payment of principal and interest on time.
  • Ensure that any other task assigned by Head, Finance and immediate supervisor is executed.]

Required Skills or Experience

  • A degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Banking & Finance and or member of a Recognized Professional Banking  (ACIB)
  • Minimum of Two (2) years practical work experience, preferably at management (or middle management) level with a finance institution. Experience with a non-banking finance institution or Finance House will be mostly preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, finance and presentation applications, accounting 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the main or widely spoken local languages.

Other Skills

  • Sound knowledge of the regulatory framework of the Micro Finance Industry. 
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability and drive for performance.
  • Must demonstrate a high sense of professionalism, diligence and integrity
  • Must be in good health and willing to travel on short notice. 
  • Must have personal presence 
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and coordinate events from conception to delivery
  • Must be smart and able to work under intense pressure
  • Must be able to delegate effectively
