Job Description
Our company new unit is looking for an experienced senior marketing professional to take lead in the marketing and sales of textbooks, stationery, eBooks, and digital libraries to Universities and tertiary level organizations. This challenging position is highly rewarding. This selected candidate should be comfortable working alone and occasionally part of a team.
The ideal candidate is expected to lead the company into a highly competitive field of education, stationery and textbook supply.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The candidate will primarily manage the sales of textbooks and related stationery products and services to Public and Private Universities, Technical Universities, Training Colleges and other tertiary level organizations.
- Conduct extensive market survey to identify both supply and publishing opportunities in targeted areas
- Ability to write and present excellent tenders and proposals to high level management and agencies
- Ability to develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders from public, private and government agencies
- Attending all industry related events, seminars and tradeshows to promote the brand
- Development and implementation of a marketing plan to launch and expand our services in digital libraries, eBooks, and journals specifically targeted at Universities.
- Working with Lecturers, Deans, Chancellors in developing solutions for educational needs, supply and publishing textbooks with or for the institutions
- Forming strategic partnerships with Campus Bookshops and other retailers
- Collaborating with foreign and local publishers and bookshops in building strategic partnerships
- in enhancing our competitive edge
- Must develop a marketing and sales plan to penetrate the Professional Accreditation/ Programs Market in Ghana
- Must have excellent presentation, negotiation and sales tactic skills
- Client visits both locally and international
- Knowledge and experience in international business relationship
Required Skills or Experience
- Five to ten years’ experience in high level and high volume sales with a track record achieving high sales targets
- Experience in B2B, B2C, Retail , Stationery and Education based businesses
- An MBA in Marketing or similar professional accreditation on that same level
- Ability to network and build key strategic relationships with new prospects, local and international partners, publishers, universities and retailers
- Ability to work independently
- Represent the company at tradeshows, events, sessions and business meetings
- Strong communication, presentation and tender writing skills
- Relationship management skills is crucial
