Job Description

We are an International Catering Company operating in various activities in the catering industry and we are looking for a CHEF IN CHARGE, who will manage all activities on site on behalf of a Client.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring promptness, freshness and quality of dishes.
• Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness.
• Designing new recipes, planning menus and selecting plate presentation.
• Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational and financial objectives.
• Performing administrative tasks, taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders.
• Manage staff roaster in order to cover all activities
• Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff (Front Desk Officers, Waiters, Cooks and Kitchen Assistants).
• Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling customer problems and complaints.
• Manage costs and expenses as per targets
• Record daily sales as per agreed process
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff.
• Ensure appealing plate presentation.
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests e.g. special needs

Required Skills or Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in similar position.
• Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices.
• Proficient knowledge of human resources management.
• Excellent knowledge of Stock systems, ordering and inventory.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Available to work on call, shifts, after hours, over weekends and on public holidays.
