Job Description

Our client is an FMCG Wholesaler seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Junior Accountant. 

Description

The core responsibility is to ensure that management accounts are completed and to provide relevant and useful data. It also includes clear advice and interpretation that helps Management make informed business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.

Candidate must be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

This role would suit a confident, passionate candidate who is keen to develop their career in accountancy.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Process transactions, prepare and post journals, update ledgers, perform bank reconciliation and cash book analysis as required to complete monthly reporting processes
  • Prepare both management and statutory accounts for management review.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT Returns.
  • To prepare and submit corporation tax returns and computations.
  • Undertake financial close procedures e.g. reconciliation of company balances, ledgers, preparation of journals and schedules.
  • Prepare year end accounting files ready for audit either by internal or external auditors

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • ACA, ACCA, ICAG or CIMA either qualified or part-qualified is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office especially excel
  • Knowledge of accounting packages preferred.
