Job Description

Job Purpose

  • To prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients for subsidiaries.
  • To develop the pipeline of new business coming into the group of companies
  • To drive the Group Advantage agenda by driving creative marketing strategies and campaign with focus on projecting the Tobinco Brand.
  • To manage Corporate Affairs and Public Relations of the Group.

Duties

New Business Development

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business for local and international subsidiaries.
  • Cold call as appropriately to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging on your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients locally and internationally
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and subsidiary heads appropriately.
  • Plan approaches and pitches, work with subsidiaries to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion using a variety of techniques to persuade or negotiate appropriately.

Client Retention

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with marketing teams and Heads of Subsidiaries/Managing Directors to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as exhibitions, events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with Managing Directors/Heads of Subsidiaries and Executive Management on business trends with a view to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales for subsidiaries and drive synergy.
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management and Research

  • Submit progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Create a Customer Relationship Management database to support Group Synergy.
  • Liaise with business heads to forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the teams.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to marketing teams in subsidiaries.
  • Manage Tobinco Group website and ensure websites are updated at all times.
  • Liaise with subsidiary heads to prepare annual marketing and advertising
  • Develop Marketing Policy for the Group.

Social Media Marketing

  • Develop social media marketing strategies for subsidiaries
  • Develop relevant content topics to reach the companies’ target customers.
  • Ensure social media leads generate business for subsidiaries
  • Conduct online advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions.
  • Oversee design (i.e. Facebook Timeline cover, profile picture, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, Instagram etc.).
  • Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns.

Public Relations and Corporate Affairs

  • Manage corporate affairs and PR of the Group.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of  a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Marketing option
  • A Professional member of CIMG or CIM- UK of which 5 years should have been post professional experience in a managerial role.
  • A 2nd degree will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in Product Development
  • At least 10 years relevant work experience, preferably within similar industry.

  • Understands clients' needs
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent IT proficiency skills particularly in MS Windows, Excel and PowerPoint as well as the use of the internet.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Adept in digital marketing
  • Possession of good presentation skills
  • Proficiency in French Language will be an added advantage
