Job Description

Purpose of the Job 

To ensure that electrical/mechanical installations meet client specs and maintain electrical systems for clients as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Troubleshooting equipment and servicing generator components including alternators, wiring harness safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure strict adherence of the company’s H, S & W and absolute rules at all times.
• To report and document any incident or accident occurred.
• Follow safety and hazardous instructions before the start of work.
• Ensure a clean environment.
• Ensure the presence of Electrical safety equipment on-site e.g. Fire buckets, Fire Extinguishers, etc.
• Ensure compliance to acceptable standards of workmanship.

 Supervisory Responsibilities

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Initiates or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Estimates, requisitions and inspection of materials.

General Duties
Any other duties that may be assigned.

• Quality Standard of work executed should be 100%.
• Accurate diagnose and timely correction of malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
• Prompt and appropriate reporting (Written and Verbal).
• Strict Adherence to safety and health procedures
• Timely completion of all projects in accordance with agreed standards and budget specifications.
• Constant availability of Electrical safety equipment on site

Required Skills or Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to use relevant electrical equipments.
• Two years’ experience in power Generation, Power Wiring, and Direct current devices.

Knowledge

• Good Knowledge of installation procedures in the GSM field.
• Ability to use appropriate testing tools and apply test installation procedures.
