Job Description

Job Purpose
Serve customers and complete account transactions 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Preparing cost estimates and ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors in consultation with procurement officer to ensure the best contracts.
  • Assisting with targeting setting for various sites.
  • Ensuring that quality assurance measures are adopted and provide feedback to Management
  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs
  • Preparing and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Advising on a wide range of legal and contractual issues
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
  • Track activities against the detailed project plans
  • Monitoring actual expenditure figures against project budget
  • Site measurements for bi-weekly valuation of work for sub-contractors                          
  • Detailed taking off and preparation of Bill of Quantities
  • Pricing (Market Surveys / Estimating) 

Required Skills or Experience

COMPETENCIES

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Hold a Degree in Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and MS Project

TECHNICAL 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creative and ability to make innovations, which affect this job and suggest changes to the immediate supervisor that is necessary to ensure efficiency and meeting of set goals 
  • Ability to solve problems based upon researching and analyzing information 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of basic planning work programmes such as MS Project and AutoCAD

PERSONALITY

  • Sound knowledge of Engineering, construction, and design.
  • Great leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in Project management skills.
  • Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn.
