Job Description

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Build or repair cabinet all wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Maintain records, document actions and present written progress reports.
• Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings, using paint, hand tools, and paneling.
• Prepare cost estimates for clients or employers.

Required Skills or Experience

• NVTI Stage I, II and III
• Three years' carpentry experience or Completion of a three-year technical training program in carpentry works.
• Any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities of carpentry have been achieved.

TECHNICAL 

• Knowledge of related tools, carpentry techniques, equipment and materials to be used
• Skills in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of steel structures and surfaces.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to promote the company’s brand image at the site
• Ability to make innovations, which affect this job and suggest changes to the immediate supervisor that is necessary to ensure efficiency and meeting of set goals 
• Ability to solve problems 
• Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task

PERSONALITY

• Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to steel bending
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to learn.
