Job Description

As a Social Worker, your responsibilities are:

• Interact, assess, counsel, and offer advice to street connected children on the field and their families
• Perform Case management
• liaise with relatives, colleagues, and other professionals to find appropriate interventions for street connected children.
• To arrange appropriate care, resources or benefits for street connected children
• Preparing street connected children and their families for reintegration
• To work in collaboration with other branches to ensure that the project goals are achieved
• Organising and Holding workshops
• Communicating with different authorities/Schools/Stakeholders/DSW
• Conducting social investigations and writing reports about field work done

Required Skills or Experience

In order to thrive in this role, you should bring:

• Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Sociology,Psychology,Population and Family Life Education
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a social organization
• Excellent at building relationships and bonding with children and family
• Ready to travel and visits children and their families
• Skilled in family situation assessments.
• The ability to engage and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to build trusted relationships within the community
• Familiar with child centred approaches in finding solutions for Street connected children
• Deep knowledge of the phenomenon of street connected children
• Experience in family empowerment
• Ability to speak any of these languages Dagbani, Kokomba and Twi will be an advantage
• Can work independently
• Good knowledge of general IT systems and applications including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Prior experience with working with international development agencies will be an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills
