Job Description

As a Field/Social Worker, your responsibilities are:

• identify street connected children and build up trust and relationship with them.
• To empower street connected children.
• To reunite street connected children with their parents/guardians/families.
• To make referrals to our centers or other social institutions/organisations
• To arrange appropriate care, resources or benefits for street connected children
• Organising and Holding workshops with street connected children
• Communicating with stakeholders on the streets
• Conducting social investigations and writing reports about field work done

Required Skills or Experience

In order to thrive in this role, you should bring:

• Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Sociology
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a social organization
• Excellent at building relationships and bonding with street connected children
• The ability to engage and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to build trusted relationships within the community
• Familiar with child centred approaches in finding solutions for Street connected children
• Familiar with the the areas in and around agbogbloshie will be an advantage
• Deep knowledge of the phenomenon of street connected children
• Ability to speak any of these languages Dagbani, Kokomba and Twi will be an advantage
• Can work independently
• Good knowledge of general IT systems and applications including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Prior experience with working with street connected children
• Good verbal and written communication skills
