Job Description

Job Purpose

The Restaurant Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects the restaurant operations. The Candidate will oversee all aspects of operations including but not limited to managing, staffing, planning, budgeting, procuring, and training

Responsibilities 

  • Implement the restaurant sales and service strategy within area of responsibility.
  • Own and monitor the restaurant’s sales and service results and deliver appropriate action to maximise performance.
  • Drive sales at every opportunity and ensure every outlet under area of responsibility is maximising its capacity.
  • Empower all employees to do everything necessary to satisfy the customer within given parameters.
  • Have a full and comprehensive knowledge of each restaurant menu and any specials in order that you can advise customers and waiting employees about each of the dishes offered.
  • Identify opportunities for improving customer service
  • Working to ensure that budgets are met and profits are maximised.
  • Monitoring and controlling payroll costs and ensuring these flex with trade
  • Maximising GP by minimising wastage and shrinkage with the Head Chef and Lead Restaurant Supervisor
  • Feedback to the Restaurant Operations Managers and Senior Chefs all quality issues, customer comments and employee opinion.
  • Carry out monthly stocktakes as required and analyse data
  • Understand and properly execute all systems, POS procedures, and departmental operating procedures. 
  • Disciplining employees consistent with the Company disciplinary policy.
  • Provide outstanding leadership for the team, setting clear direction and providing regular feedback.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A food/engineering related qualification/degree
  • 4-6 years experience in a Managerial position required, preferably in a dining/restaurant setting and handling multiple units
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and Health and Safety requirements
  • A good understanding of quality assurance, procedures and protocols

Key Skills 

  • Excellent Co-ordination skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Effective planning, project management and organizing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers and customers
  • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits.
  • Willing to put in the hours as and when required
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
