Serendipalm Co. Ltd. operates a Fairtrade & Organic commercial palm oil project with small holders and a “traditional” village-based oil mill. The project supplies several brands in Europe and in the U.S., is organic and fair trade certified and has a positive impact on rural development in the Eastern Region. It is diversifying into cocoa and other organic and fair products, including value addition that requires processing.

Serendipalm is value-driven with a highly motivated team of 20+ professionals who manage a 300+ local staff, many unskilled. A team from Dr. Bronner’s, Serendipalm’s sister company, provides support in several areas, including accounts and advisory support.

Job Description

 Internal Control System (ICS) Manager for Tano Biakoye Organic Cocoa Cooperative, Ashanti Region, Ghana

Contract period: Twenty-eight (28) months maximum  

Required Skills or Experience

• Agricultural background: Minimum Bsc in Agriculture or related field.
• Basic knowledge about the foundation of ICS and organic integrity
• Ability to manage people to get concrete results
• Appreciable level of relevant and appropriate experience in managing people
• Willing to engage/consult with different Senior Managers
• Self-motivated, firm and confident
• Strong communication skills
• Willing to stay in the Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti region
• Willing to visit the field and interact with farmers and field officers as well as the ability to perform functions such as scheduling, safety and reporting. 
• Project management Skills – must understand project planning and deadlines, resource allocation, and the safety requirements related to the field activities.
• Attention to detail – Must have the ability to analyze complex projects, identify inefficiencies, and coordinate staff and equipment resources to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
• Organizational and Interpersonal skills – must have strong listening skills when communicating with workers, Farmers and other key stakeholders. This includes the ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts and hear complaints without becoming defensive.
• Basic knowledge and skills in emails and Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to ride a motorbike
• Should be knowledgeable in Cocoa agronomy
• Excellent written and spoken communication and a proactive approach to effective communication in Twi and English are a must. Fluent in Krobo and Fante are an added advantage.
• Willingness to relocate full time to Kensakrom, Atwima Mponuah District, Ashanti Region.
