Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial reports.
  • Analyzing financial data.
  • Monitoring internal controls.
  • Overseeing and preparing income statements.
  • Participating in budgeting processes.
  • Managing financial transactions.
  • Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
  • Developing plans for financial growth.
  • Evaluating and managing risk.
  • Coordinating audit processes.
  • Oversee all company accounts and investments 
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback 
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing 
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported 
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation 
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations 
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies 
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations 
  • Overseeing Treasury and Taxation functions
  • Managing external banking relationships
  • Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create an organizational structure within the accounting department to facilitate the achievement of the department’s short-term goals and long-term objective
  • Collaborate with external auditors as needed
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting records
  • Complete periodic bank reconciliations
  • Maintain a system of controls over all transactions
  • Manage Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • An interface between Management and clients. 
  • Supervises all staff with respect to Finance & Accounts processes and procedures.

General Duties

  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

  • Availability of cash to support operations
  • Timely meeting of obligations to the banks and other regulatory bodies
  • Timely delivery of reports
  • Well controlled budgets and cost to achieve maximum profits.
  • Zero record of errors or discrepancies in the accounting books
  • Well streamlined accounting transactions and growth.
  • Timely preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Strict Adherence to Health and safety procedures and policies
  • Strict Adherence to laid down accounting policies and procedures

 

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum Requirements/Qualification

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years experience in related position

Knowledge

  • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Knowledge of computer based spreadsheets and reporting
