Job Description

  • Location: Accra
  • Reports to: Deputy Manager - Accounts Receivable, Reporting & Assurance

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Accounts Receivables to ensure data integrity and timely invoicing and receipts

  • Prepare monthly Gas Transportation Agreement (GTA) invoices, Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) invoicesand N-Gas Management Services invoices in accordance with signed agreements and approvedprocedure documents
  • accurately input data; volumes and tariffs in the Gas Management System (GMS) to be used togenerate monthly invoices
  • Record accounts receivable transactions in the Financial System (SUN System)
  • Prepare and issue monthly gas value chain stakeholder’s report
  • Prepare monthly aging analysis and reconciliation statements of accounts receivables

Coordinate the preparation of budget and ensure an efficient budget control, reporting and monitoring system is in place

  • As directed, set up appropriate GL codes in Financial System, input templates and system to preparethe annual budget and business plan
  • Collate departmental inputs for opex, capex and volume and tariff inputs from CBD to prepare annualcorporate budget and 5-year business plan.
  • Support coordinate budget challenge meetings with SMT and Fincom leading to the approval of annualbudgets by the BoD
  • Prepare approved budgets for upload into Financial Systems
  • Collate inputs for monthly capex performance and contract status review meetings and quarterly OpexLatest estimate (LE) meetings and issue meeting minutes
  • Assist budget holders with Budget code creation and virement processing

Support financial year end close and external audit activities

  • Update, communicate and monitor year-end financial close activities
  • Prepare computations of estimates for inclusion in the year-end financial statements as appropriateincluding right of use assets and lease liabilities, pipeline impairment, contingent liabilities and otherprovisions
  • Prepare year-end adjustments for review and approval prior to posting including Net Realizable Valueadjustments, asset write-offs
  • Prepare year end supporting schedules for external audit Support timely filing of signed Financialstatements and Annual Tax Returns

Execute assigned Finance Controls and Assurance Activities

  • Provide inputs into bi-annual finance risk register update
  • Provide updates into bi-annual finance compliance register
  • Provide monthly updates on audit actions
  • Update relevant finance controls policies and procedures as directed

Timely and accurate preparation of management, financial statement and ad-hoc reports

  • Execute assigned month-end close and assurance activities
  • Review assigned General Ledger Account balances and transactions to confirm accuracy
  • Prepare inputs for monthly Corporate scorecard updates
  • Prepare monthly Finance KPI dashboard reports
  • Prepare monthly management reports. This involves issuance of month end Corporate and Finance &

Admin closing timetable, collation of departmental input in a timely manner, preparation of financial statements, financial ratio analysis and draft executive summary

  • Prepare monthly budget control report for opex and capex spend
  • Prepare and update financial slides for FINCOM, BAC , other Board Committees and Board Meetings
  • Prepare bi-annual local content reports

Other Duties

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree or Equivalent in Finance, Economics, or Accounting with
  • a minimum of 4 years' relevant work experience, and a Chartered/Certified professional Accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICA, ACA) with at least 2 years post qualification experience.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of accounting, Controls, Fixed Assets Management, Taxation in Ghana such as Value Added
  • Tax and Withholding Tax, Payroll processing. Possession of MBA in Finance and Accounting will be an add advantage.
